Trying to setup another mailbox for existing user gives error ""Database is mandatory on UserMailbox"  -other mailboxes work fine
Not trying to install anything, exchange 2010 is up and running. When I view Recipient Configuration I see an Account, but under Mailbox it does not exists. When I try to modify it, I get the error "Database is mandatory on UserMailbox" and it will not let me delete it wither. The MS Technet Article on this error did not help at all. Any ideas why this account will not function? It is a long standing account, and a Domain Admin Account as well. Any help or ideas is appreciated. Hi Is the database still there? Is it mounted? Run ExBPA and check for issues/warnings If it's only one mailbox, domain admin account usually doesn't have too many mails, in that case just create a new mailbox for it Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

Yes, This is a new Exchange 2010 Install with Sp1. Just got it set up. The problem is that it is an actual Domain account, when I try to delete it, it fails. I tried "get-mailbox -OrganizationalUnit "Domain.com/Users" | Update-Recipient It came back stating: "Useraccount has been corrupted, and its in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors happended: Warning: Database is Mandatory on UserMailBox" FullyQualifiedErrorID: 26939ADA David Baur

I have tried going through How to Remove Spaces From Recipient Aliases by Using the Exchange Management Shell at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb851499(EXCHG.80).aspx and it did not have any effect either. David Baur

Found it. The user account was not inheriting permissions in AD, Changed this, I then deleted the account (unfortunately) and recreated it.David Baur
